Ford Ranger and Mustang Rated Gold at Carlist.my’s People’s & Editors’ Choice Awards 2020
- Ford Ranger takes home Gold for ‘Pick-Up Truck of the Year’, while Mustang wins Gold for ‘Aspirational Car of the Year’ for the second year running, as voted by the people.
- Everyday Malaysians casted their votes against the top three car models, while writers and editors rated based on multiple aspects, before tabulating the scores and determining the winners.
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, 26 January 2021 – Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC), the sole distributor of Ford in Malaysia was recently rated Gold for the Ranger and Mustang models for the second year running as voted by Malaysians at the Carlist.my’s People’s & Editors’ Choice Award 2020.
The multiple-award winning Ranger has bagged Gold for ‘Pick-Up Truck of the Year’ for the second year running, where the Ranger nameplate has been well-known for the Ranger Raptor being the first and only performance certified pickup truck, while the Ranger WildTrak for its class leading safety technologies.
The iconic Ford Mustang – the best-selling sports car in the world in 2020, and the world’s best-selling sports coupe for the fifth consecutive year– also bagged Gold as ‘Aspirational Car of the Year’ for the second year running.

Consumers were asked to cast their votes for the top three car models for each category. For the Editors' Choice Awards, writers and editors rated the cars based on multiple aspects, before tabulating the scores and determining the winners. The voting process is documented and scrutinised by Carlist’s internal team of auditors to ensure data accuracy and fair evaluation process.
