KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, 7 April 2023 – In recent years, the trend towards a 4x4 lifestyle has been gaining popularity and people are increasingly choosing to own a pickup to go out on weekend adventures while using it for work and family.

This May, Ford Ranger owners desiring some fun weekend adventures, on and off-road, while enjoying the cool mountain air can look forward to two new Ford Ranger Getaways. Both getaways also offer a fresh and endearing way to celebrate Mother’s Day this year.

The first getaway is A Trip Through Nature at Gunung Jerai on 6 May 2023. The second getaway – Chase the Sunrise in Cameron Highlands on 27-28 May 2023 – takes travellers off the beaten path and is the first overnight trip in this year’s Ford Ranger Getaways series.

Apart from organised trips including overnight outings and training courses, there are also getaways that customers can choose to go for on their own. Slots for all Ford Ranger Getaways are limited on a first-come, first-served basis.

A trip through nature at Gunung Jerai, Kedah

Explore the mountains of Kedah in this one-day trip on 6 May while celebrating Mother’s Day and enjoy the fun of driving up partially steep slopes on the way to the peak of Gunung Jerai with the Ford Ranger convoy.

Along the way, experience the thrill of tackling 4x4 challenges such as Hill Descent Control, Hill Launch Assist and Side Slope at Bukit Kuang with a professional driving instructor.

At the peak, more than 1,000m above sea level, an open-air dining experience awaits with a panoramic view of the coastline and Kedah’s endless paddy fields. For those who are flower enthusiasts, be sure to keep an eye out for the blooming hydrangea plants.

Nature buffs who want to revel in the sights and sounds of our diverse rainforest can join a 30-minute guided hike across paved stairs towards the Alur Naga Falls.

Chase the sunrise in Cameron Highlands, Pahang

Escape the city and celebrate Mother’s Day while cooling off over the weekend with a grand highland tour over two days on 27-28 May to experience the lesser-known trails and routes up Cameron Highlands.

Ranger customers who sign up for this adventure will convoy with other Ranger owners and their companions on a scenic drive on some of the best roads in the country.

Upon arrival at a charming resort destination, they can enjoy getting to know their fellow travellers over a day of fun activities, including a barbeque party and a movie under the stars.

The real highlight of this trip is the sunrise chase on day two. Travellers will set out at the break of the day and convoy 40 km to a “mystery” viewpoint to witness the spectacular sunrise overlooking a sea of clouds.

Pricing and availability

Both getaways can accommodate up to four persons per vehicle. All prices are inclusive of insurance for travellers aged one to 80 years. Children aged 16 and below can travel for free.

The Gunung Jerai trip is available in two packages. The Individual & Couple Package is priced at RM456.02 per person while the Family Package costs RM1,716.49 for four adults.

Meanwhile, pricing for the Cameron Highlands adventure starts from RM1,047.77 per person.
